iPad 2 rumored to ship end of February

According to a new report Foxconn is supposed to start shipping the iPad 2 by the end of February. Initial shipments to reach 400,000-600,000 units. It takes a couple weeks from the time the supplier starts to ship product to Apple actually start selling it. The end of February date would put the iPad 2 release date in the anticipated late March and early April time frame.

Digitimes also claims that Apple has right now more iPad inventory than they sell in the channel. If true we still should see iPad discounts from retailers this year.

The new iPad 2 will sell like crazy that is already certain. A lot of main stream consumers are holding out for version 2 of the iPad as the Tablet market is maturing. Taking into account how fast the iPad managed to establish a huge customer base, the iPad 2 is set to explode sales numbers. Apple sold 4.2 million iPads in the last quarter. I predict that the iPad sales for Q4 will be mind boggling. The iPad Black Friday sale alone will have generated hundred thousands of sales.
